Privacy

Your chats stay on this machine.

Brompter, formerly DevChat, stores sessions, messages, and settings in a local data directory. The desktop app talks to a loopback backend with a token generated for that process.

Prompts you send are forwarded to the model provider you configure (Claude, Codex, Cursor, or OpenAI for voice). That provider’s own terms apply to those requests. Brompter does not operate a hosted chat archive.

This page describes the local product. It is not a certification and it does not claim a particular compliance program.

If you send feedback or a bug report from the app, we store the message you write. A report may include a screenshot of the current view and, for a bug, the recent console log, along with the page address and browser identifier. The screenshot is kept in a private bucket.
