The workspace
Layouts
Columns for a single thread. A grid when you want chats, terminals, and files on one board.
Columns
The left list is chats and panes. The active chat fills the middle. Terminals, the browser, files, diffs, and header tools stack in the column on the right. Drag the divider to resize that column. The left list itself resizes from 128 to 480 pixels and remembers the width in this browser. Double-click its divider to return to 160.
Grid
Grid, under the list, switches to a free-form board. A fresh arrangement puts chats on the left half and every other pane on the right. Drag a widget by its header, or drop its row onto the other list, to move it. Resize from the edges. Arrange tiles the board again.
Hover preview
Rest the pointer on a chat or pane in the left list and that tab opens at full size over the workspace. It closes when the pointer leaves the row. Terminal and browser previews are the live pane, scaled, so a preview does not start a second shell or reload the page. Settings → Desktop → Hover preview turns it off. It is on by default.
Search the lists
One search box sits above Chats and Panes. It matches open chats, web tabs, terminal scrollback, and files as you type. A chip or a chat:, web:, term:, or file: prefix limits the search to one kind. The in-app command palette (Cmd+K or Ctrl+K) searches messages, files, and slash commands together. This docs site has its own search and does not query your repo.
